Tis the holiday season and as many of you know I’ve worked in the RVA restaurant industry for a number of years. The importance that job had on my life was significant, from paying rents to paying college to teaching me vital skills I use in my work today.

A lot of folks are out of work right now and yes, I know everyone is looking for creative ways to to be gainfully employed. I worked at Cafe Rustika up until Covid hit and even though I worked there 1-2 shifts a week, that was money I used to take care of the “little things” like my cell phone bills.

My point is, we need to stand together during this holiday season and give the gift of giving. So many wonderful restaurants have closed down leaving tons of people unemployed, remember moms and dads can work in restaurants too! If you’ve ever dealt with unemployment, like me, you know what a pain that can be, you also know that nearly $200-400 a month is nothing. Think of all the free drinks you’re gonna get when this is over! No, seriously, if you would like to contribute to the tip jar here’s a list of folks who need it:

*** if you would like to contribute to the pooled tip fund click the donate button, all money will be distributed equally to all those on the list each month.
