A great way to store and decorate is to utilize your non-working fireplace.
A lot of us Richmonders live in old houses because who doesn’t love the charm? With those old houses comes the lack of a real working fireplace. I have one myself. There are some things you can do to spruce up and use it to your decorating advantage. Here are my five faves.
Using patterned tiles or painting the inside of the fireplace, brings texture and color and can tie the whole room.
Non-working Fireplaces are great spaces to utilize with out of the way gems. Think of putting your very own wine or whiskey storage, baskets of yarn or blankets, or stack your reading materials, store your chess or poker sets.
Inputting some shelves makes a nice way to organize your fireplace deco. Put decorative boxes, figurines, or playing cards to showcase.
Need some artificial flame? Soften up your centerpiece with fairy lights or LED candles, go so far as putting string lights on the mantle.
A perfect hideaway for your succulents or add a pop of color with gorgeous seasonal flowers to add some beauty.
