Welcome to Brookland Park Boulevard!
No longer is Brookland Park Boulevard carrying its former street cars, but this area along with the rest of Northside is a hot commodity these days.
Brookland Park is diverse. It still maintains character without selling out. I love it here with all its parks and walkable areas and the best thing are the neighbors, they really do look out for each other. - E.A.B., Resident (4.5 years)
The Scene
Brookland Park Boulevard
This once bustling street is making a comeback and I love it! I love walking down it and seeing the barbers clipping away at all hours of the day and night. I check in at Alma’s RVA all the time to see what new local artisans she’s carrying or when her next art show is. It’s a great place to get gifts or artful home decor items or a smile. You can get a delicious meal on the main drag from many fine establishments that will satiate your every tastebud. From the community loving Nomads to the event driven Fuzzy Cactus to a quick pick up at Brookland Park Market, there’s something for everyone and it’s always delicious. I love going into Scrap RVA and finding fun stuff to do artful things. It’s a unique store filled with salvaged art supplies, trimmings, fabrics, etc. You’ll never be birthdaycakeless or at a loss for baked goods at Michaela's home of the 6 layer Thalheimer cake. Don’t get me started on the newly planted in Ruby Scoops or taking care of myself with delicious juices from Ms. Bee’s Juice Bar and Ninja Kombucha. As you can tell, it’s a total walkable area with plenty to do and see. It’s also noted that the old Brookland Park Theater is in renovation and I’m excited to see what they do with this future venue. I foresee this to be a highly trafficked walkway once more!
